Melania Trump appeared to want nothing to do with President Donald Trump’s hand on Monday.

 After FLOTUS and POTUS arrived at Ben Gurion International Airport in Lod, near Tel Aviv, Israel, for Day 3 of the administration’s first international trip, Trump reached one hand backwards toward his wife ― but she quickly rebuffed the gesture with a flick of her wrist. At the time, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu was holding hands with wife, Sara, beside the Trumps.

Naturally, Twitter was in an uproar about it:
Some have argued that the swat (or slap, as others are calling it) wasn’t a swat at all, but merely a withdrawal.

WOMAN THREATENED WITH KNIFE DURING ATTEMPTED RAPE

A dog walker was attacked by a man who held a knife to her throat and attempted to rape her. The victim, aged in her 30s, was walking her two dogs on waste land, near to Bedford Avenue, in Walkden, when she was approached by a man just before 7pm last night (Sunday). The man asked her for the time, but then grabbed the woman and pulled her into some trees. He then threatened the victim with a knife and ordered her to hand over her jewellery. Police said the attacker then tried to rape the woman, but she managed to fight him off and fled from the scene. Greater Manchester Police are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone with further information to come forward. The attacker is described as white, of stocky build and aged in his mid 30. CHAD WITHDRAWS TROOPS FIGHTING INSURGENCY

Boko Haram insurgents Chad has withdrawn hundreds of troops from Niger Republic, where they were helping local forces fight Boko Haram terrorists. The move came a month after the country complained about an unexpected U.S. travel ban imposed on its nationals. Chad warned at the time the order could affect its security commitments, which include its involvement in the U.S.-backed fight against Boko Haram. Humanitarian officials said on Friday that the withdrawal had already had an impact on Niger's Diffa region, which has seen a string of attacks by Boko Haram militants crossing over from Nigeria. Ibrahim Arimi from the border village of Bosso said banditry had increased since the Chadian troops started leaving and he had been temporarily moved to another village for safety. Diffa parliamentarian Lamido Moumouni said residents had started complaining. "They had come to rely on the forces so there is a perception that security will be lacking," he said.

A bloody clash between the army and police in Nigeria's restive northeastern Yobe state on Wednesday left one soldier and three police dead, a security source told AFP.  The police confirmed the fracas in the state capital of Damaturu, but did not say if there were casualties.  "The Nigeria police force is abreast of the unfortunate incident that occurred in the early hours of today 12th April, 2017 in Damaturu between the personnel of the force and that of the Nigerian army," police spokesman Jimoh Moshood said in a statement.  He said an investigation had been launched to determine "the causes of the incident and deal with the situation appropriately to prevent such occurrence in the future".  The army authorities were not immediately available for comment.
