RETALIATION;SOLDIERS TORTURE COMMUNITY RESIDENTS WHERE SOLDIER WAS KILLED

Soldiers have allegedly invaded a community in Ghana and dealt mercilessly with the people after they lynched a soldier to death,mistaken him for a robber.

The Assembly Member alleged to have incited Monday's murder of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama in Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region has been arrested.

Also, soldiers have allegedly beat the hell out of some of the resident alleged to have participated in the lynching of the soldier.

William Baah turned himself in to the Diaso police at exactly 3:30pm, the police have confirmed.

He is currently being transported to the Regional Police Headquarters in Cape Coast to assist with investigations.

Late Captain Maxwell Mahama was a military officer with the 5th Infantry Batallion (5BN) at Burma Camp in Accra but on detachment duties at the Denkyira Boase of the Central region.

Captain Mahama who is the commander of the area military detachment according to his subordinates, was seen jogging along the main road and as he stopped by to ask some women for directions, the women saw a pistol on him.

The women who were alarmed by the discovery of the pistol on Captain Mahama mistook him for an armed robber thereby alerting their assembly member who allegedly organised some men to lynch him and even burnt him in the process. 
The women's action is said to have been influenced by recent robbery attacks in the area with a recent one being a day before. 


The military officer was not in uniform when the incident happened and is said to have pleaded with the mob not to lynch him, indicating that he was an army officer and not a criminal, but his plea was not taken by the mob who hit him with several objects including cement blocks

The former manager of a Shelton restaurant is accused of sexually harassing employees and touching them inappropriately. Police started the investigation in March 2016 when three female employees of Dee's Kitchen at 509 Howe Ave. in Shelton went to police to report that 58-year-old Bryan Stockbridge, of Ansonia, was sexually harassing them and had touched them inappropriately on several occasions. Detectives quickly obtained an arrest warrant, but they could not apprehend him, police said. They then obtained information that Stockbridge fled to California after an interview with detectives. Shelton police obtained information today that Stockbridge was back in Connecticut, living in Ansonia, and they took him into custody. Stockbridge has been charged with three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault. He posted a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court tomorrow.

Gunmen Sunday abducted a would-be couple, the best man and their friends at Akunnu-Akoko in Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State on their way to Akure, the Ondo State capital for their engagement ceremony. The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken over some properties traced to a former special adviser to Dan Abia,erstwhile managing director of Niger Delta Commission (NDDC) Mr George Turnah. The anti-graft agency said the confiscation was done on Thursday, May 25 following an interim forfeiture order granted it by a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers state. It was learnt that one of the properties covered by the forfeiture order is a massive complete building known as ‘KOLO VILLA’ in Kolo Town, Ogbia local government area of Bayelsa state.
