Mumbai:  The 20-year-old daughter of Chartered Accountant was found dead on railway tracks in Mumbai, the police said today.

Pallavi, the daughter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) president Nilesh Vikamsey, was found in central Mumbai.

She had been missing since last evening, after her classes at a law firm at Fort in south Mumbai where she was doing her internship. She was last seen boarding a local train at the Chhatrapati Shivaji metro station around 6 pm, the police said.

When Pallavi did not return home for hours, her family filed a missing person"s complaint.

After a search, the police found her body on the tracks between Parel and Currey Road station last evening. It was today that Pallavi's relatives confirmed that it was her body, said a senior official.

"We found the body of a woman on tracks between Parel and Currey road yesterday at around 7.30 pm. Today, her relatives confirmed her as Pallavi Vikamsey," said DCP Samadhan Pawar, spokesperson of GRP (Central Railway).

"Prima facie it appears that the girl committed suicide," a police officer said.

For now an accidental death case has been registered.

Pallavi, a law student, was the youngest daughter of Nilesh Vikamsey.

An attempt by a mother of two children to smuggle a phone to her boyfriend in prison custody has been foiled by the officials of the Nigerian Prisons Service (NPS) in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The 33-year-old woman, Fatima Balogun who has been arrested by men of the Special Intelligence Unit of the NPS, carried out the action on Wednesday at the gate lodge of Abeokuta maximum Prisons in Ibara. The suspect confessed that she hid the phone which she bought for her boyfriend identified as Ganiyu Ajibode, in the cooler of soup from the Prisons officials. Balogun said she was a divorcee with two children before she met Ganiyu about two years back. A Minna Chief Magistrates’ Court has granted bail to a housewife, Eucharia Mba, who was earlier apprehended by the police for allegedly selling her four-month-old baby for N605,000. Mba was arrested alongside Bright Ahuruezeanya of Chanchaga area of Minna and one Peter Ani. The defendants are facing three counts bordering on criminal conspiracy, buying and selling of a minor. The offence contravened sections 79 and 278 of the Penal Code Law. According to the police First Information Report, one Mr. John of Mechanic Junction in Chanchaga, had sometime in September, 2017 reported to the police that Amaka Bright of the same address with Bright Ahuruezeanya conspired with his wife Eucharia and sold his four-month-old baby boy. It was alleged that Eucharia and the other two accused persons left for Enugu State where they sold the baby to one Mr. Ani for N605,000.
