20 couples in South Africa have today chosen a unique and special way to get married—in a mass wedding at Robben Island, Cape Town, on Valentine's Day.

The mass wedding at Robben Island has become a tradition over the past 16 years and is made possible through a partnership between the management at the Island and the South African Department of Home Affairs.
Some of the couples are renewing their views in the colorful event held at the sunny and picturesque island.

The couples are madly in love
Robben Island is famous for being the prison where former South African President, the late Nelson Mandela, was jailed for many years.
However, it has now become a major tourist attraction in the city of Cape Town. Its popularity is cemented in its rich history as well as the annual mass weddings.

The Rivers State Police Commissioner, Mr. Francis Bolaji Odesanya has died in an Indian hospital after an assumed kidney failure. He was the 37th Rivers State Commissioner of Police, having succeeded Mr. Foluso Adebanjo on July 12, 2016. Odesanya joined the force on February 2, 1986, as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and rose through the ranks to his current position of Commissioner of Police.

Masaba, dies at 93 leaving behind 86 wives and over 170 children     The controversial super-polygamist and Islamic preacher, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar Bello Masaba is dead. He died yesterday afternoon after a brief illness in his Bida residence. He was 93 years.  His personal assistant, Alhaji Mutairu Salawudeen Bello, confirmed the development in an interview with our correspondent.   “The Janiza prayer and interment is slated for today by 10am,” Bello said.  He said the late octogenarian had fore-told his death and was prepared for it. “Baba had told us that his time was up. A 45-year-old suspected ritualist who was arrested by the Police in Lagos with a human skull, has disclosed that he sold fresh human skull for N1 million. The suspect, Lucien Tusume, was arrested at Iraye village in Sagamu area of Ogun State, following intelligence report. Explaining the circumstance that led to the arrest of the suspected ritualist, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said some policemen, who disguised as buyers, contacted the suspect for a human skull. The suspect reportedly agreed to sell a dried skull for N150,000 to the undercover operatives, but the officers bargained for N81,000 which he accepted.The suspect later took the dried human skull to the 'buyers', and he was subsequently arrested after payment was made to him. Houses Belonging To Nigerians Burnt In South Africa By Nationals February 14,2017 Some South African nationals in Rosettenville, south of Johannesburg, have burned down about 15 houses belonging to immigrants, especially Nigerians residing there. The locals, who were apparently peeved, have accused the non-indigenes of turning their neighbourhood into a drug den. According to Africa Review, some shops belonging to foreign nationals in the area were also looted on Sunday, February 12, 2017. The South African residents in the area are of the opinion that Nigerians had illegally taken over most property and turned them into drug and prostitution dens, thereby calling for their sack from the neighbourhood. 100 OFFICERS RAID HOMES IN CONNECTION TO A CAR LEASING SCAM,5 MEN ARRESTED

Five men have been arrested after more than 100 police took part in dawn raids to disrupt a high value car leasing scam. Officers from Cheshire Constabulary and Greater Manchester Police targeted suspected criminals in eight properties across Oldham , Levenshulme and Stockport . The men, aged between 28 and 58-years-old, remain in police custody. It follows an investigation into an organised crime gang who are thought to have been fraudulently leasing high value cars, which are transported overseas and then never seen again.
