UPDATE ON SOLDIERS WHO TORTURED CRIPPLE

According to Emmanuel who lives in Onitsha and shared the story,military personnel yesterday brutalised a crippled man at New Market Road,Onitsha for wearing a military camouflage.

He wrote:'What a wicked world.Military police brutalize a cripple man today at New market Rd Osha.Just because he was on military camouflage.'

Now news has it that the said soldiers have been arrested,read on;

Following a video clip trending on social media on Wednesday,which showed two army officers brutalizing a physically challenged man for wearing a camouflage shirt,the Nigeria has said the officers in question has been apprehended.
This was contained in a statement signed by the director Army Public Relations,Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, revealing that the incident took place on Tuesday at Onitsha,Anambra State.
It however,did not give information about the officers who were involved in the dehumanizing act but that they have been apprehended and charged for assault by their commanding officer.
“The attention of the Nigerian Army has been drawn to a video clip in which two soldiers were seen maltreating a physically challenged person for allegedly wearing a camouflage shirt. 
We wish to inform the public that the incident took place on Tuesday 7th February 2017, at Onitsha, Anambra State.
In line with our zero tolerance for acts of indiscipline and unprofessional conducts especially in relation to violation of human rights,we wish to further state that the soldiers involved have since been identified and apprehended.
They have also been charged for assault by their Commanding Officer.
Similarly,troops have been warned to desist from such acts that infringe on human rights and cast serious aspersions on the good image of the Nigerian Army.
The public should please regard this ugly incident as an isolated case which is not true reflection of the Nigerian Army.See photos below;

The meeting of the Federal Executive Council that holds every Wednesday did not hold yesterday. Yesterday would have afforded President Muhammadu Buhari who returned to the country on Saturday the opportunity of presiding over the council meeting for the first time in over three months. Jamie Harron, 27, has been sentenced to three months in jail in Dubai for touching a man's hip as he carried a drink through a crowded bar. He was arrested for public indecency at the Rock Bottom bar on 15 July. The electrician, from Stirling, claimed he was simply trying to avoid spilling his drink when he touched the man. It was thought the case against Harron might have been dropped after reports that the businessman he touched had withdrawn his complaint. But on Sunday the campaign group Detained in Dubai, which has been supporting Harron, said he had been sentenced to three months in jail for public indecency. The group said he would appeal against the jail term but he faced further court proceedings for drinking alcohol and for allegedly swearing at the businessman he touched.
