Magistrate David King was accused of posting details of a court case on social media

A magistrate has been reprimanded after posting a Facebook message about a court case he had overseen.

 David King, who sits in courts in Portsmouth, south-east Hampshire, was investigated by a watchdog after a complaint.

 A Judicial Conduct Investigations Office spokesman said judicial heads had concluded that Mr King's behaviour "fell below the standard expected of a magistrate".
The spokesman said Mr King had been issued with a reprimand.

 Detail has emerged in a statement posted on the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office website.

 The statement gave no indication what Mr King's message had said.

Benue State Police Command has busted two kidnap syndicate of 8 including a Gang of 4 allegedly led by a woman believed to be an associate of the wanted militant leader, Terwase Agwaza, aka Gana, who a week ago abducted a businessman. The police operation also led to the arrest of three women whose responsibilities were to provide food for the victims, who was rescued alive. The businessman was kidnapped alongside his son, who was later released to source N20 million as ransom for his father.  The state's Police Commissioner, Bashir Makama, said: "During investigations, we discovered that the lady, who was arrested had the responsibility of pencilling down those to be kidnapped and those to be killed by the gang. They are all associates of Gana, the wanted militant leader. Also arrested, after reliable information, is one Victor Ayanngor, who conspired with Ordue Abraham, Kelvin Dankor and Emmanuel Terver to kidnap his girlfriend and collect N200,000 ransom."

TEENAGER ARRESTED AND CHARGED TO COURT FOR STABBING WOMAN

A 16-year-old boy (name withheld) was on Thursday charged before an Ikeja Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly stabbing a woman on the head with a broken glass. The accused, a secondary school student, who lives with his parents at Fagba area of Iju-Ifako, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a charge of assault. The prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told the court that the offence was committed on April 3 at the accused’s tenement building. Ogu said a fight ensued between the accused’s mother and the complainant, Mrs Jessica Nwosu, over washing of toilet. “The accused just came into the scene, broke a glass and stabbed the complainant on the head and cheeks for abusing her mother.’’ The offence contravened Section 243 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.   A woman simply identified as Mrs. Omowale has accused one Prophet Oni Olakanye of CAC Palace of Mercy, Mathew Olokuta of administering a liquid substance in her private part during a deliverance session.
