POLICE ARREST 8 PERSONS OVER MUSHIN GANG CLASH IN LAGOS

Eight persons alleged to be involved in a gang clash that led to the destruction of property in Idi-Oro, Mushin – Lagos have been arrested,the Lagos Police Command says.

 The command Spokesman, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday.

 Famous-Cole said that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Fatai Owoseni, had also deployed more police personnel to ensure peace in the area.

 He said the suspects, who were arrested in Idi Oro had machetes and axes in their possession “Normalcy has returned to the area and there is heavy police presence there.

 “The public should go about their business. There is a free- flow of traffic in the area now,” Famous-Cole said.

 The police had to deploy men of the Rapid Response Squad to bring the situation under control.

Man allegedly chops off pregnant woman’s hand A man, who was engaged in a fight with his neighbour in Isaba-Ekiti, allegedly chopped off the left wrist of a pregnant woman, Aisha Adam, with a cutlass. Suspected Boko Haram Members Kill 10-Year-Old Boy February 16, 2017 Policemen attached to the Inspector- General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris’ Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), have arrested suspected Boko Haram members, who abducted a 10-year-old boy in Maiduguri, Borno State and later stabbed him to death. The victim, Baa Goni Maina, was abducted on January 14 by 18-year-old Adam Bakura and his brother, Modu Bakura. The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on Tuesday paraded a 17-year-old Boko Haram suspect, who admitted killing 18 people since he joined the group three years ago.  The suspect, Ali Mustafa, said he was forced to join the deadly group when Boko Haram terrorists attacked his village in Monguno and left with many boys. A nurse has become the first in a wheelchair to work on the frontline of the NHS.Michelle Quested, 33, lost the use of her legs in a car accident seven years ago. But the dedicated nurse was determined not to let her disability get in the way of her clinical work at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. The suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), David Babachir Lawal, on Tuesday appeared before the Yemi Osinbajo-led panel, where he answered questions over the alleged violations of due process in the award of contracts under the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE). Lawal arrived the Presidential Villa around 1pm and was ushered before the Vice President. He left at 3.35pm. The panel had on Monday grilled the suspended Director-General of the National Inteligence Agency (NIA), Ambassador Ayo Oke. Oke was suspended over the recovery of $43million from a Lagos apartment, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
