MAN FOUND GUILTY OF KILLING CHICAGO COP

CHICAGO –  A man has been found guilty in the 2010 death an off-duty Chicago police officer.

 It took a Cook County jury four hours Tuesday to find 25-year-old Bernard Williams guilty of first-degree murder in Officer David Blake's killing. The jury also found Williams guilty of armed robbery.

 Prosecutors said the then-18-year-old Williams lured Blake into an alley to kill the officer and raid a gun safe at his house.

 No physical evidence linked Williams to the killing of Blake, nor was the murder weapon recovered. However, several of Williams' friends testified he tried to recruit them to help in the murder and robbery, and then confessed after killing Blake.

 Assistant Public Defender Dylan Barrett told jurors that investigators targeted Williams "because of the pressure they felt to solve this crime."

The Nigerian Air Force has sentenced to death by hanging Airman Kalu Bernard, for killing his lover, Solape Oladipupo, aka Shomzy Shomzy, on March 12, 2017. The judgment, which started at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, dragged till 4 p.m. when it was stood down before the panelists reconvened at 7:30 p.m. Reading out the 70-page court findings, which lasted for about two hours, the Judge Advocate, Flight Lieutenant M.A. Umoh, listed the eight-count charges against 21-year-old Kalu to include murder, house breaking, impersonation, attempted murder, among others. The defense counsel, Abimiku Ewuga, urged the court to temper justice with mercy, saying the accused was his family breadwinner. The President of the court, Gp. Capt. Saudi police shoot dead IS suspect MARCH 8TH 2017,          Police in Saudi Arabia said Wednesday they shot dead a member of the Islamic State group in the capital, the latest suspected jihadist to be killed by security forces. Officers were called at 6:00 pm (1500 GMT) on Tuesday to an apartment in Riyadh’s Al-Rayan district where the suspect was “flaunting his support” for the extremist group, the interior ministry said in a statement.         “He started to resist and waved a gun which he was carrying,” forcing police to eliminate “the threat he posed,” the ministry added. MAN ALLEGEDLY BEATS 85 YEAR OLD MUM TO DEATH TO PLEASE WIFE

A man has been arrested by the Egyptian police after he allegedly admitted to beating his 85-year-old mother to death because his wife complained about her. Zeinab as-Sayyid Mahfouz died at a hospital in Alexandria on September 15 after what many speculated to be domestic violence. After reports of him beating his aged mother to death circulated online, social media users in Egypt demanded that he be brought to justice. It was learnt that Zeinab's daughter-in-law had complained to her son about her after which he brutally beat her up to please his wife. He then proceeded to a restaurant with his wife, leaving his battered and wounded mother in the house to bleed. Ghanaian Reggae musician Ekow Micah has stood his ground regarding his stance for smoking "wee". Micah referred to the Holy Bible and cited an instance where God smoked marijuana popularly known as "wee" In an interview with Akwasi Aboagye on Peace FM's "Entertainment Review", Ekow Micah said he smokes because the almighty God smoked. He quoted Psalm 18:7-8 to buttress his point. "The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains shook; they trembled because he was angry. Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it". This news comes after dancehall artist Samini admitted to also consuming the illegal narcotic in the comfort of his home. Ekow Micah was arrested, charged and put on trial for possessing illegal wee. GIANT HORNETS STING 87 YEAR OLD WOMAN TO DEATH

Asian Hornet A wheelchair-bound 87-year-old pensioner, Chieko Kikuchi, who was attacked by giant hornets in Japan and stung 150 times, has died. According to a firefighter,  emergency workers stood by powerless to help her. A swarm of hornets swooped on Kikuchi as she was on her way back from her care centre in western Japan, accompanied by a helper. The helper called firefighters but they could not reach the woman immediately as the swarm around her was too thick and they had no protective equipment. After the ordeal, which lasted around 50 minutes, the woman was rushed to hospital but died the following day, the firefighter said. "It was an unusual operation for us," he admitted. The death occurred in mid-September but was only reported on Friday, making headline news on national bulletins.
