MAN KILLS MOTORCYCLIST TO ROB HIM OF CYCLE

         A man has killed a commercial motorcyclist, Maniru Yusufu, in the Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto State and robbed him of his motorcycle.

          Yusufu was said to have taken the man, who is still at large, to Kauyen Bayan Masallata, a village in Niger Republic, bordering the state.

          His decomposing body was found around the border three days after his family declared him missing.

          Punch reports that the police said they could not do anything about the murder since it happened withing Niger Republic.

          The body was later buried with the district head of Illela, village and ward heads in the area in attendance.

NIGERIAN GOVT REACTS TO RECENT KILLING OF A NIGERIAN IN SOUTH AFRICA

The Nigerian government has reacted to the killing of a Nigerian identified as Rasak Alao in South Africa. Recall that the Nigerian man, an auto mechanic, was on Thursday killed in South Africa after he was attacked alongside other Nigerians in Polokwane, Limpopo Province in South Africa. Reports indicated that the men were attacked following suspicions that they were into drug trafficking. Rasak Alao whose car was burnt lost his life in the attack which was carried out on him and five other Nigerians. In reaction, the Federal government issued a statement condemning the act and repeated attack on Nigerian nationals living in the country. T wenty six year-old Alice Awuor Omito from Rongo, Migori County, Kenya, has shocked many after confessing that preparing the dead for burial is the one thing that makes her happy. The employee of Rosewood Funeral Home in Rongo said that she dropped out of nursing school after fears that she would not secure employment after school. The mortician began working as a morgue attendant at Star Mortuary in Kisumu two years ago, aged 24 before transferring to Rosewood in Rongo and says that she can't imagine being away from the dead. "I enjoy spending a better part of my working days with the dead. I can't imagine staying away from them even for a single working day. GUNMEN WAYLAY BUS IN RIVERS, KIDNAP 19 OCCUPANTS

Kidnappers struck again in Rivers State on Thursday, waylaying an 18-seater bus and abducting the 19 occupants of the vehicle, including the driver. It was gathered that the incident happened on Isiokpo-Elele Road in the Ikwerre Local Government Area, about 30 kilometres from Agip Junction in Port Harcourt, where the bus branded, Rivers Mass Transit Company, took off. Sources explained that the kidnappers, who were 10 in number and heavily armed, blocked the road and forced the bus to stop as soon as it (bus) approached them. Thursday's abduction would be the third time in one month that passengers would be waylaid on the road by hoodlums. It was also learnt that the victims, who were on their way to Owerri, the Imo State capital, were marched into the bush by their captors at about 8.30am. 15 DAY OLD INFANT MISSING UNDER SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES

Investigators say the Saturday morning disappearance of a 15-day-old infant from Newton County is suspicious.  Caliyah McNabb's parents called 911 when they noticed she was missing around 10 a.m. Saturday, Channel 2 Action News reported. They told officials she was fed at 5 a.m. and she was gone when they woke up. Family members gave Channel 2 a photo of the missing baby. Caliyah McNabb      Newton County sheriff's deputies and dogs searched a 2-mile radious around the Eagle Point trailer park in Covington. "I want my kid back, man,” Christopher McNabb told the news station. “That's my child, man. I want my kid!"  Family members were shocked and saddened. "She was so tiny.
