MAN KILLS MOTORCYCLIST TO ROB HIM OF CYCLE

         A man has killed a commercial motorcyclist, Maniru Yusufu, in the Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto State and robbed him of his motorcycle.

          Yusufu was said to have taken the man, who is still at large, to Kauyen Bayan Masallata, a village in Niger Republic, bordering the state.

          His decomposing body was found around the border three days after his family declared him missing.

          Punch reports that the police said they could not do anything about the murder since it happened withing Niger Republic.

          The body was later buried with the district head of Illela, village and ward heads in the area in attendance.

Iran has announced sanctions against 15 US companies, alleging they support "terrorism", repression and Israel's occupation of Palestine, in retaliation for measures earlier announced by Washington. Youths and traders protest customs invasion of rice warehouse Feb 23rd 2017; Some youths and traders have brought activities and vehicular movement on the ever busy Lagos-Abeokuta expressway to a halt, following a protest over alleged invasion of the rice market by men of the Nigerian Customs Service.The protest which was said to have lasted for hours, took the intervention of the Sango Ota Police Area Commander, Adegoke Fayoade, to restore normalcy to the area. Meanwhile, the Customs Public Relations Officer, Federal Operation Unit, Jerry Attah, dismissed the claims of market invasion, explaining that men of the command on surveillance noticed smugglers were moving rice in bulk on motorcycles from a canoe to a store in the area.
