A Nigerian Engineer Sunday Ojonimi Agada has invented an over-speed-alert device which he said would save Nigeria N1.2 trillion in capital flight yearly.

Explaining the functionality of the device to the Minister of Science and Technology Ogbonnaya Onu, on Tuesday in abuja, Agada said Nigeria spent over N200 billion in importing speed limit devices.

According to him, if his invention, Ikani-Engine Contactless speed limit alert (ECOSA), is launched, the huge amount would be saved.

He said the device was 90 per cent completed and would be launched before the end of this year.

He disclosed that the device was capable of drastically reducing road crashes in the country if adopted by the government.

He also said the device has the ability to alert the driver of an impending danger like potholes, breakdown vehicle on the road.

"And it can be used to track stolen cars and verify fake driver's license if adopted by FRSC, VIO and others," he added.

Agada told the minister that he is willing to sell at the rate of N15,000 each when the device is launched into the market.
