BENUE YOUTHS DEFILE ELDERS,BURN 2 MOTORBIKE THIEVES TO DEATH

Two young men were on Thursday stoned to death in Aliede area of Benue State for allegedly stealing a motorcycle. One of the victims was identified as Labister, a native of Tiv tribe, while the other whose identity could not be ascertained at the moment hailed from Idoma speaking part of the state. We learnt that the suspects were caught with a stolen motorcycle Thursday afternoon and were killed by angry community youths. An eyewitness said that efforts by the community elders to rescue the young men and hand them over to the police were futile as the mob insisted on killing them so it could serve as a deterrent to others. Several efforts to reach the Benue Police PRO failed as his phones rang endlessly and unanswered.

50 CENTS Rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has claimed that Donald Trump’s presidential campaign offered him half a million dollars to support him during the election. The Spanish man accused of murdering his twin toddlers in Cape Town was denied bail on Thursday after he offered to pay R150‚000. Magistrate Goolam Bowa agreed with the state that Mario-Ceasar Yela was a flight risk and that releasing him on bail was not in the interest of justice. Yela is accused of murdering the children while visiting them in South Africa. The Wynberg Magistrate’s Court heard that on April 6 he had been involved in a car accident. The children were allegedly in the vehicle. He refused medical help from Neighbourhood Watch members who were first on the scene. He returned to the Hout Bay flat he was renting and dismissed the au pair. The state also put it to the court that Yela contacted his ex-wife to tell her that the children had died. Senator Dino Melaye The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has withdrawn its motion seeking an order of the Federal High Court in Abuja allowing it to serve the recall petition on the Senator representing Kogi West in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye. Justice Nnamdi Dimgba struck out the motion after INEC’s lawyer, Yunus Ustaz (SAN), announced its withdrawal in court on Thursday. The judge also directed that all issues pertaining to the case should thereafter be taken to the Court of Appeal. He noted that since Melaye’s appeal against the court’s September 11 judgment had been entered at the Court of Appeal, all pending applications, including the ones filed by Melaye for stay of execution of the verdict, should be taken to the Court of Appeal. Troops of 1 Division on Operation SHARAN DAJI deployed at Magami, Gusau LGA of Zamfara State on Tuesday, 26th September responded to a distress call on armed bandits operating along Jengebe-Gusau road robbing helpless civilians.
