Xenophobic Attack:Why Buhari must take a stand – Reps February 23rd, 2017 The House of Representatives has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to take a stand against the persistent xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa. Speaking during plenary, a member from Edo State, Serguis Ogun frowned at the treatment meted out to Nigerians in South African. According to Ogun, “I want us as a House to condemn it and I also want our government to take a stand on it. “How can we say that we are the giant of Africa when in other African countries, our citizens are being killed?” The Minority Leader, Leo Ogor, described the xenophobic attack on Nigerians as “unjustifiable.” Urging the South African government to take responsibility for securing lives within its borders, Ogor said, “This isn’t the first time this is happening.
