Buhari in closed door meeting with wife, Osinbajo, APC chieftains

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in a closed-door meeting with his wife, Aisha Buhari, Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains, and senior members of his cabinet.

Sources at the State House said the meeting is taking place in the First Lady’s conference room at the Aso Rock Villa.

Before the closed-door meeting commenced, journalists were barred from going close to Buhari to ask him questions.

The President will likely address the nation after the meeting.

President Buhari had arrived Nigeria earlier Friday morning,  after which a helicopter conveyed him from the Kaduna Airport to the helipad inside the Presidential Villa at 8.42am

He was received by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari; Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammad Bello; Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali; National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; Director-General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura; Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris; Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari; all service chiefs.

According to CBS affiliate WJHL, Scott Edmisten was “unsteady” and “very angry” when authorities pulled him over during a traffic stop this week. On Tuesday, WREG reported Edmisten was driving on a suspended license when he was caught going 55 mph in a 30 mph zone. He allegedly floored it, reaching speeds of 80 mph before finally coming to a stop and taken into custody. An inventory of his vehicle recovered a loaded .357 magnum, a loaded .45 semi auto, a full auto AR rifle in .223 caliber, a full auto AR rifle in .308 caliber, over 900 rounds of ammunition, a mask and black fatigues. MAN WHO KIDNAPPED OWN GF AND RECEIVED N200K RANSOM ARRESTED ALONGSIDE OTHERS

Benue State Police Command has busted two kidnap syndicate of 8 including a Gang of 4 allegedly led by a woman believed to be an associate of the wanted militant leader, Terwase Agwaza, aka Gana, who a week ago abducted a businessman. The police operation also led to the arrest of three women whose responsibilities were to provide food for the victims, who was rescued alive. The businessman was kidnapped alongside his son, who was later released to source N20 million as ransom for his father.  The state's Police Commissioner, Bashir Makama, said: "During investigations, we discovered that the lady, who was arrested had the responsibility of pencilling down those to be kidnapped and those to be killed by the gang. They are all associates of Gana, the wanted militant leader. Also arrested, after reliable information, is one Victor Ayanngor, who conspired with Ordue Abraham, Kelvin Dankor and Emmanuel Terver to kidnap his girlfriend and collect N200,000 ransom."

The IPOB leader had met with the governors at the Enugu State Government House on August 30, 2017 said his decision was informed by the prevailing situation in the South East. In separate declarations, Nigerian Catholic Bishops and their leader, Cardinal John Olorunfemi Onayekan, have urged adherence to the rules of the church and resistance of moves to introduce pop culture.
