Buhari in closed door meeting with wife, Osinbajo, APC chieftains

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently in a closed-door meeting with his wife, Aisha Buhari, Vice-President, Yemi Osinbajo, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains, and senior members of his cabinet.

Sources at the State House said the meeting is taking place in the First Lady’s conference room at the Aso Rock Villa.

Before the closed-door meeting commenced, journalists were barred from going close to Buhari to ask him questions.

The President will likely address the nation after the meeting.

President Buhari had arrived Nigeria earlier Friday morning,  after which a helicopter conveyed him from the Kaduna Airport to the helipad inside the Presidential Villa at 8.42am

He was received by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; Zamfara State Governor, Abdulaziz Yari; Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Muhammad Bello; Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali; National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno; Director-General of the Department of State Services, Lawal Daura; Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris; Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari; all service chiefs.

A dog walker was attacked by a man who held a knife to her throat and attempted to rape her. The victim, aged in her 30s, was walking her two dogs on waste land, near to Bedford Avenue, in Walkden, when she was approached by a man just before 7pm last night (Sunday). The man asked her for the time, but then grabbed the woman and pulled her into some trees. He then threatened the victim with a knife and ordered her to hand over her jewellery. Three Customs and Border Protection officers have been arrested following a bombshell I-Team report exposing allegations of extreme, sexually abusive hazing of colleagues at Newark Airport , federal prosecutors said Wednesday. Tito Catota, 38, of Lyndhurst, New Jersey; Parmenio Perez, 40, of Hawthorne, New Jersey; and Michael Papagni, 32, of Staten Island, are charged with forcibly assaulting, impeding, intimidating and interfering with two male customs officers while they were on duty. All three men appeared in federal court later Wednesday and were freed on $100,000 bond. Attorney information for the men wasn't immediately available. A spokesman for Customs and Border Patrol told News 4 in a statement it welcomes the indictments and that it "fully supported" the investigation by the Inspector General. Kidnappers beat lecturer to death after collecting N1.1m ransom  23rd Feb 2017; Two men, Patrick Koyi and Chituru Ferdinand, have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a lecturer,Emmanuel Chinasa Obi,working with the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) in September 2016. The suspects also beat the victim to death after collecting N1.1 ransom.
