2 YEAR OLD BOY STOLEN FROM PARENTS HOME BY TAILOR

A two-year-old baby boy, Ikechukwu Nwachukwu, has been stolen from his parents' home in Umuihim village in Umuozu Ugiri Community in Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo State, Punchng reports.

According to Remigus Nwachukwu, an uncle of the stolen child, Ikechukwu was allegedly stolen by one Ifeanyi Anyanwu, a tailor in the village. He said, "The child woke up that Saturday morning and was strolling within the compound around 7.00am when this Ifeanyi came and held Ikechukwu by the hand.

People who saw him thought it was normal until about 9.30 that morning when the boy's mother started looking for him to eat his breakfast. The woman didn't suspect anything when she learnt that her son was with Ifeanyi.

But when the time started pushing towards 10 and 11 that morning, everybody was alarmed and we eventually learnt that Ifeanyi was not at home. His wife and only daughter who had been at home since Monday were not at home either.

It was then that people started looking for Ifeanyi and the little boy." Nwachukwu said that the suspect who was on the run had switched off his cell phone. Confirming the development, the State Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike, said that the command was trailing the suspects.

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos have intercepted a 54- year- old single mother of four children. She was going on pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia with substances that tested positive for cocaine. The suspect who hails from Kwara State was apprehended during the outward screening of passengers on a Qatar Airline flight to Saudi Arabia after testing positive to drug ingestion. Preliminary investigation revealed that she ingested 32 wraps of substances that tested positive for cocaine weighing 330 grammes. The suspect who hawks tea and bread to earn a living in Lagos was found to have collected N300,000 to smuggle drugs to Saudi under the pretext of going for pilgrimage. PHOTO OF THE DECEASED BEEN TAKEN AWAY An Assistant Superintendent of Customs has allegedly committed suicide in Lungu Village, Gwarinpa, Abuja. The cause of the suicide was yet to be ascertained. Sources said the man, identified as Christian, 44, locked himself in a room and hung himself with a rope on Saturday. A source said the deceased, who was unmarried, was staying with his brother and was said to have been recently transferred to Lagos before the incident happened. The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, said the brother whom the deceased stayed with was at a barber’s shop when the incident happened. He said the man was confirmed dead at the Kubwa General Hospital. “Exhibits recovered include some drugs and knife.” Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was suffering from depression.

POSTMORTEMS TO BE CARRIED OUT ON BODIES OF CANADIAN-AMERICAN COUPLE

By BBN Staff: Yesterday, the bodies of the missing Canadian-American couple were discovered near a cane field in Chan Chen village in the Corozal district. Reports to BBN is that an on site post-mortem examination is being conducted on the bodies at this time. According to these reports, the bodies are in an advanced state of decomposition. Canadian national, Francesca Matus, 52, and her boyfriend, American national, Drew Devoursney, 36, were last seen on Tuesday night leaving a bar in Corozal town. Matus was to fly to Canada, Wednesday morning. A friend who was to take Matus to the airport, American national Joseph Milholen, reported to police that he called her several times but to no avail. Milholen also called Devoursney but received no response. Police and volunteers had organized search parties from Wednesday through to Monday. On Sunday, Matus’ white Isuzu Rodeo was discovered in a cane field in Paraiso village, Corozal.
