WOMAN NABBED AFTER POURING PEPPER IN HER OWN DAUGHTER'S VAGINA

A business woman, Mercy​ Segun, 42, was on Wednesday arraigned at a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja for allegedly beating her daughter and pouring pepper into her vagina.

Segun, who resides at Idu Gbagyi, Karmo, is facing a three-count charge of criminal force, assault and causing hurt to a minor.

The Prosecutor, Mrs Florence Auhioboh, told court that the defendant's neighbour, one Gift Afegua, reported the matter at the Karmo Police Station on Aug. 22.

She alleged that Segun, knowing her daughter to be a minor, ill-treated her by pouring grinded pepper into the girl's vagina.

Auhioboh told the court that the defendant's action caused the minor serious pain.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 246, 265 and 238 and of the Penal Code.
The defendant, however, denied the charges.
The Judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted Segun bail in the sum of N30, 000 with a surety in like sum.
He ordered that the surety must reside within the court's jurisdiction and adjourned the case until Sept. 25 for hearing.

Unknown Gunmen Kill University Student, Watchman In Jigawa. 17th Feb 2017, A 27-year-old university student, Muhammad Garzali, was killed by unidentified assailants at Kafinhausa town of Kafinhausa Local Government Area of Jigawa. Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr Abdu Jinjiri, an ASP, said that Garzali was murdered alongside a 60-year-old watchman, Ali Dan-Katsina, at a motor park in the area. POSTMORTEMS TO BE CARRIED OUT ON BODIES OF CANADIAN-AMERICAN COUPLE

By BBN Staff: Yesterday, the bodies of the missing Canadian-American couple were discovered near a cane field in Chan Chen village in the Corozal district. Reports to BBN is that an on site post-mortem examination is being conducted on the bodies at this time. According to these reports, the bodies are in an advanced state of decomposition. Canadian national, Francesca Matus, 52, and her boyfriend, American national, Drew Devoursney, 36, were last seen on Tuesday night leaving a bar in Corozal town. Matus was to fly to Canada, Wednesday morning. A friend who was to take Matus to the airport, American national Joseph Milholen, reported to police that he called her several times but to no avail. Milholen also called Devoursney but received no response. Police and volunteers had organized search parties from Wednesday through to Monday. On Sunday, Matus’ white Isuzu Rodeo was discovered in a cane field in Paraiso village, Corozal.
