Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo had a rather special celebration after The Supreme Court nullified Uhuru Kenyatta's presidency.

After the results were announced, the controversial MP immediately flung herself on the ground and stayed there for a few minutes as a small crowd gathered around her.

On standing up, she then shared why.

Celebrations have been held in different parts of the country after the court ruling.

CJ Maraga announced the 2017 presidential election results as null and void and called for a re run in 60 days.

The ruling at the Supreme Court on Friday, September 1 has transformed Chief Justice David Maraga into an instant hero in the country.

In the latest judgement, which had the judges digest up to 70,000 pages of information, the judges said they will read the explanation later but it was clear that IEBC did not conduct the poll in the best way, legally.

Third Way Alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot has called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to be punished for conducting a botched election.

TERRORIST LEADER SHEKAU An “alarming” number of children, most of them girls, have been used by Boko Haram as suicide bombers in the first months of 2017, UNICEF said Wednesday. The Islamists have increasingly been using children to attack crowded markets, mosques and camps for internally displaced people in northeast Nigeria and the broader Lake Chad region. Experts said the number of children used in suicide attacks by Boko Haram surged to 27 in the first quarter of this year, compared to nine over the same period in 2016. Since 2014, 117 children — the “vast majority” of them girls — have been used to carry out attacks in public places across Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroon, said the report by the United Nations children’s agency UNICEF. The Edo state Police command have arrest three lectures of the Ambrole Ali University, Ekopma for allegedly involving themselves in cult-related activities. Haliru Gwandu, the state’s Commissioner of Police disclosed the development to journalists in Benin on Tuesday, adding that firearms were recovered from the arrested lecturers.Among those arrested was a professor, from whom a double-barrel gun, single-barrel gun and one pump action gun were allegedly recovered. The police command in Imo State on Monday paraded members of a syndicate that specialised in stealing and selling children. The state Commissioner of Police, Chris Ezike said the gang members operated in Imo and Enugu states and had committed many atrocities.
