Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo had a rather special celebration after The Supreme Court nullified Uhuru Kenyatta's presidency.

After the results were announced, the controversial MP immediately flung herself on the ground and stayed there for a few minutes as a small crowd gathered around her.

On standing up, she then shared why.

Celebrations have been held in different parts of the country after the court ruling.

CJ Maraga announced the 2017 presidential election results as null and void and called for a re run in 60 days.

The ruling at the Supreme Court on Friday, September 1 has transformed Chief Justice David Maraga into an instant hero in the country.

In the latest judgement, which had the judges digest up to 70,000 pages of information, the judges said they will read the explanation later but it was clear that IEBC did not conduct the poll in the best way, legally.

Third Way Alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot has called on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to be punished for conducting a botched election.

Members of Boko Haram Boko Haram insurgents have killed six men in a village in northeast Nigeria on Tuesday in what appeared to be a targeted reprisal attack. A militia fighting the group said nine Boko Haram fighters allegedly entered Kijimatari, a village in north-east Borno state, at around 2 am (0100 GMT), breaking into the homes of six men including the village chief before slitting their throats. "The attackers evaded a nearby military checkpoint by entering the village through bush paths," said Ibrahim Liman, the head of a local anti-jihadist militia force. "The chief of the village was among the victims and it was clear the victims were deliberately targeted."   Evidence has emerged of another Islamic State militant group (ISIS) mass execution, this time in the Syrian Christian desert town of Al-Qaryatain.   The militant group killed at least 116 civilians in executions committed in the days before the Syrian regime recaptured the town, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a U.K.-based monitoring group with an extensive network of contacts in Syria.   "ISIS has over a period of 20 days executed at least 116 civilians in reprisal killings, accusing them of collaboration with regime forces," SOHR chief Rami Abdelrahman told the Agence France-Presse news agency.   ISIS regained control of the town three weeks ago, and then the killings began.
