MILITARY/IPOB CLASH,ABIA POLICE SAYS NO CAUSE FOR ALARM

ABA- the Police in Abia State has said that there is no cause for alarm over yesterday's clash between soldiers and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in Umuahia.

Soldiers attached to the Forward Operation Base, FOB, Umuahia, had clashed with the IPOB, on Sunday, at Afara Ukwu community, Umuahia.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Police Command, DSP Geoffrey Ogbonna, the Police stated that the situation was instantly brought under control without loss of life.

Ogbonna disclosed that a Policeman sustained a machete cut on his head and back, while one of the soldiers was injured in his left wrist including one Mrs. Grace Nwokeukwu of Umuobasi lsiama Afara, Umuahia who also had a machete cut on her head.

He added that the victims were taken to Police Clinic, Umuahia for treatment and urged residents of the city to go about their normal businesses without fear of molestation.

EFCC re-arraigns 3 directors for allegedly stealing over N100 million MARCH 9th, 2017 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has re-arraigned three directors, Gregory Eriyanremu, Frank Ugen and Harriman Isa Oyofo before Justice Uloho of the Delta State High Court sitting in Warri for allegedly converting over N100million meant for payments of contractors who executed contract job for Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, to personal use at different times. After weeks of intensive manhunt, the Lagos state police command has arrested one Ismaila Adeyemi, 49, the suspected mastermind and killer of Hector Jobateh (the 2007 winner of Gulder Ultimate search) who was traced and shot dead at his residence at New Oko-Oba in Agege, Lagos State. The suspect who was arrested at gas line Ominiyi in Ijoko area of Ogun state, confessed to the crime and other numerous crimes, while other members of his gang have been arrested.
