MILITARY/IPOB CLASH,ABIA POLICE SAYS NO CAUSE FOR ALARM

ABA- the Police in Abia State has said that there is no cause for alarm over yesterday's clash between soldiers and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in Umuahia.

Soldiers attached to the Forward Operation Base, FOB, Umuahia, had clashed with the IPOB, on Sunday, at Afara Ukwu community, Umuahia.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Police Command, DSP Geoffrey Ogbonna, the Police stated that the situation was instantly brought under control without loss of life.

Ogbonna disclosed that a Policeman sustained a machete cut on his head and back, while one of the soldiers was injured in his left wrist including one Mrs. Grace Nwokeukwu of Umuobasi lsiama Afara, Umuahia who also had a machete cut on her head.

He added that the victims were taken to Police Clinic, Umuahia for treatment and urged residents of the city to go about their normal businesses without fear of molestation.

The mother of a 7-year-old child is demanding answers after her son was allegedly handcuffed at school and taken to a mental health facility in Texas. “My son is a special-needs child, and he requires those special needs,” the boy’s mother, April Obis, told WBRC Fox 6 News. FORMER PRESIDENT CONFIRMS BURGLARY OF HOME AS HE REVEALS STOLEN ITEMS

Former President, Mr Goodluck Jonathan has confirmed the theft of his property from his house in Abuja. He confirmed the incident in a statement by his spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze, following some media reports that the home was stripped bare and some of the items stolen were being sold in markets. "The house, which the former President bought from CITEC estate developers in 2004, was totally stripped bare by the thieves who stole every movable item in the house including furniture sets, beds, electronics, toilet and electrical fittings, as well as all internal doors and frames." The Police has arrested a suspected gang Leader in Ogun State for impersonation and the murder of a middle aged motorboy after an altercation in Abeokuta, the state capital.
