MILITARY/IPOB CLASH,ABIA POLICE SAYS NO CAUSE FOR ALARM

ABA- the Police in Abia State has said that there is no cause for alarm over yesterday's clash between soldiers and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in Umuahia.

Soldiers attached to the Forward Operation Base, FOB, Umuahia, had clashed with the IPOB, on Sunday, at Afara Ukwu community, Umuahia.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abia State Police Command, DSP Geoffrey Ogbonna, the Police stated that the situation was instantly brought under control without loss of life.

Ogbonna disclosed that a Policeman sustained a machete cut on his head and back, while one of the soldiers was injured in his left wrist including one Mrs. Grace Nwokeukwu of Umuobasi lsiama Afara, Umuahia who also had a machete cut on her head.

He added that the victims were taken to Police Clinic, Umuahia for treatment and urged residents of the city to go about their normal businesses without fear of molestation.

FORMER BBC STUDIO CORDONED OFF AFTER MAN'S BODY WAS DISCOVERED

A man’s body has been discovered on the former BBC studios site in Manchester city centre. The body was found this morning at the building site on Oxford Road, which is currently being transformed into student flats. Greater Manchester Police have been called to the scene and the area has been taped off. Forensics officers have also been seen combing the area. Police are working to establish the circumstances behind the man’s death. The victim is believed to have been discovered by building site staff on Monday morning. It is thought he gained access to the building site over the weekend. A prophet of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C & S) Church in Lagos, Mr. Alimi Isaiah, 55, has been arraigned before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly being in possession of human skull and a horn. Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has backed out of his planned talks with the South-East Governors Forum » . The IPOB leader had met with the governors at the Enugu State Government House on August 30, 2017 said his decision was informed by the prevailing situation in the South East. "Accordingly, we will not engage in any meeting with anybody until the atmosphere is conducive and peaceful enough to allow for such, " he said. POLICEMAN MURDERED,RIFFLE STOLEN BY HOODLUMS

Barely one week after a policeman lost his service rifle to unknown gunmen, another policeman has been attacked and killed by unidentified hoodlums in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. The unnamed policeman was reportedly killed in a beer parlour in the state capital. It was learnt that the hoodlums stole a police AK47 rifle after murdering the policeman at one of the relaxation spots on Hospital Road area. Christian Nwosu An ex - Administrative Secretary with the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Christian Nwosu , on Thursday alleged that he was cajoled into confessing to taking a bribe of N 30m to compromise the 2015 general elections. 12 YEAR OLD GIRL DIES AFTER RELATIVE'S GUN GOES OFF

LEEDS, Ala. A 12-year-old girl died Sunday after authorities believe she was accidentally shot by a family member during a gathering in Alabama, according to multiple reports. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the girl as Kayla Mendenhall, AL.com reported. Authorities told the news site that Kayla and an adult family member were wrestling when a gun worn by the adult discharged. Kayla was shot in the upper leg and died at a hospital. Police declined to comment further on the investigation.
