UBER DRIVERS WHO SPECIALIZE IN ROBBING THEIR FEMALE CLIENTS ARRESTED (PHOTO)



The Lagos State police command has arrested two Uber drivers, Fosta Rufus, 30, and Franklin Jogbodo, who specialize in robbing women of their valuables at gunpoint in Lagos. While parading the suspects before newsmen at the state police command in Ikeja, the state commissioner of police, Edgal Imohimi, said the men attacked women who they pick up around the Lekki, Ajah and Victoria Island areas of the state.

According to him, items stolen from their victims’ include jewelry, expensive phones, and cash. He said the men sometimes follow their victims to an ATM from where they would force them to withdraw cash at gunpoint.

The police boss said a KIA Rio with registration number BDG 376 EP used by the suspects to carry out the crime have been recovered. The police have also recovered other valuables, which includes a Samsung Galaxy 7edge plus and iPhone 6 plus, allegedly collected from their victims identified as Nancy Nzuegbo and Eze Chinonso.

“On one occasion, the suspects collected the sum of N86,000 from their victim using her Access Bank ATM. They have both confessed to the crime.”

While speaking with newsmen, one of the suspects, Franklin, blamed his friend, Fosta. According to him, it was Fosta that dragged him into committing the crime.
“I met Fosta while working with UBA as a driver. I met him again sometime this year. I helped him to register as an Uber driver. It was him who collected the phones that were found on us from some ladies” he said.

The suspects would be charged to court soon.
