SUSPECT IN TEMPLE VARSITY STUDENT"S MURDER HAS CRIMINAL PAST

A former Temple University student has been charged in the death of a current student whose remains were found over the weekend. Joshua Hupperterz, 29, was taken into custody Friday and charged with murder after authorities found a body, confirmed to be missing college student Jenna Burleigh, 22. Burleigh’s body was found on property belonging to Hupperterz’s grandmother. Burleigh was reported missing on Thursday night, and was last seen on surveillance footage leaving a bar near campus in north Philadelphia, with a man police identified as Hupperterz. Hupperterz was charged with murder, and faces charges of possession of an instrument of crime, evidence-tampering and abuse of a corpse. WOMAN SLEEPING IN TENT BECOMES 3rd HOMELESS DEATH THIS WEEK

A woman who was sleeping rough in a tent is the third homeless death this week. The woman, aged in her thirties, has been named locally as Jennifer 'Jenny' Dennehy. She is understood to have been a client of Simon Community services in Cork, according to the Irish Independent. It is believed she may have accessed the services for assistance after she was evicted from her rented flat earlier this year. She was discovered in a tent near Gilabbey Rock, in the south-west of the city, in the early hours of Friday morning. Ms Dennehy's death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage by gardaí. Gardaí said their investigation will be directed by the post-mortem findings. The woman's death brings to three the number of homeless people who have died this week in Ireland. A mother-of-two (25) died tragically in emergency accommodation in Kildare, while a man (aged in his 50s) who was found unconscious on Suffolk Street in Dublin later passed away...

What he stole was not mentioned but he said the deceased was one of the thieves that robbed him in January.It is unclear where it happened in the Southeast but the mob were pictured shouting kill him 'Onye osi' meaning he is a robber. A taxi driver has revealed how he was left “terrified and traumatised”, after a gang of teenage thugs beat him up, stole his money and smashed up his car earlier this month. 3 PEOPLE ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH MURDER OF DUBLIN GRANDMA

Gardai investigating the murder of Patricia O'Connor have announced that they have arrested three people. According to gardai, a 73 year-old-man was arrested in Co Meath earlier today. Gardai have also confirmed that two women, aged 19 and 38, were arrested in Dublin by officer's investigating O'Connor's death. The three are currently detained at Bray and Wicklow Garda stations under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. A 32-year old man previously arrested and charged in relation to the case is currently before the courts. O'Connor's dismembered remains were found scattered across a 30km area of the Wicklow mountains in June. The investigation is ongoing.

A business woman, Mercy​ Segun, 42, was on Wednesday arraigned at a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja for allegedly beating her daughter and pouring pepper into her vagina. Segun, who resides at Idu Gbagyi, Karmo, is facing a three-count charge of criminal force, assault and causing hurt to a minor. The Prosecutor, Mrs Florence Auhioboh, told court that the defendant's neighbour, one Gift Afegua, reported the matter at the Karmo Police Station on Aug. 22. She alleged that Segun, knowing her daughter to be a minor, ill-treated her by pouring grinded pepper into the girl's vagina. Auhioboh told the court that the defendant's action caused the minor serious pain. The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 246, 265 and 238 and of the Penal Code. The defendant, however, denied the charges. The Judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted Segun bail in the sum of N30, 000 with a surety in like sum. A two-year-old baby boy, Ikechukwu Nwachukwu, has been stolen from his parents' home in Umuihim village in Umuozu Ugiri Community in Isiala Mbano LGA of Imo State, Punchng reports. Three unemployed men, who allegedly sexually assaulted a 17-year-old girl, were yesterday brought before an Ebute-Meta Chief Magistrate's Court. Michael Fadipe, 28, Sunday Chukwunero, 26 and Dotun Obajuluwa, 22, were arraigned before Mrs Oluyemisi Adelaja on a three-count charge of conspiracy, indecent assault and rape. Prosecuting Inspector Chinalu Uwadione told the court that the defendants committed the alleged offences on May 25 around 8pm, at Fagba area in Agege. He said they conspired with two others at large and one Fela Domeh, who accosted and threatened her with a knife. Tukur Buratai, chief of army staff, has commended Ibrahim Attahiru, theatre commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, for "coming very close" to achieving the directive to capture Abubakar Shekau, leader of the Boko Haram sect. On July 21, Buratai asked Attahiru to lead the operation to capture Shekau dead or alive within 40 days. But from then until August 30 when the deadline elapsed, Boko Haram became more ferocious.
