20 DEAD,THOUSANDS SAVED OFF THE LIBYAN COAST

By

Thousands of migrants have been saved from the sea near Libya  between Friday and Sunday during the Easter by rescue workers, but 20 died, including an eight-year-old.According to Africa Review, more than 2,000 people were rescued on Friday and 3,000 on Saturday in dozens of separate rescues, the Italian Coast Guard said.

But at least 20 drowned as aid workers struggled to rescue more than 1,500 migrants in one ongoing operation. An eight-year-old boy was among the dead, rescue workers said.

The Migrant Offshore Aid Station (Moas) said its rescue started in the early hours of Saturday and had continued non-stop into Sunday afternoon. The group said it had rescued at least 453 people, but more than 1,000 remained in danger.

A Reuters photographer on board the Phoenix, a ship run by Moas, counted at least 20 bodies during the rescue.Mr Chris Catrambone, one of the founders of Moas, said it had requested “urgent assistance” on Saturday morning.“Our crew says they’ve never seen anything like it,” the organisation tweeted.

Italian NGO Sea Eye and the German group Jugend Rettet were also aiding the rescue attempt.Doctors without Borders (MSF) said its rescue boats Prudence and Aquarius had rescued about 1,000 people during Friday’s operations, during which one migrant is believed to have died.

The improving Spring weather may have factored into the sudden surge of ocean crossings.

The Libyan coastline remains a hot spot for such rescues, as unscrupulous smugglers crowd wooden boats or inflatable dinghies with hundreds of desperate migrants. At least 97 migrants died the previous Thursday, when their boat sank. Just 23 men were rescued, clinging to a flotation device. In late February, the bodies of 87 people washed ashore in a Libyan city.

She said that the sex was better until two years later in 2009.She said: ‘It was like it had grown teeth. His willy was bright red and spouting blood. There was a big red stain spreading between us on the sheets. ‘After that he was scared of my lady garden and approached it as if it was a Venus flytrap and he was a fly.’ She was adamant that that the injury was caused by the mesh but doctors assured her everything was fine. They avoided sex and six months later they split up. She stopped eating as her confi...

BIAFRA: Press Release  IPOB UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF NNAMDI KANU HAS BROUGHT A TRANSFORMATIONAL REVOLUTION THAT WILL ENSURE THE LIBERATION OF BIAFRA IN PARTICULAR AND ALL OPPRESSED PEOPLES OF NIGERIA IN NIGERIA The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) under the leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has the undeniable recognition as the pacesetter in the current quest for the restoration of the nation of Biafra and liberation of all enslaved peoples currently trapped in the British-created monstrosity called Nigeria. For the records, Nigeria is a country created not by God but by a fellow human being and non-African called Frederick Luggard. As we all know, this is contrary to the laws of nature because the creation or emergence of a nation is only by divine providence through aggregation of social, religious and shared value systems, not by force or the dictates of one man.  Luggard's business-inspired creation we know today as Nigeria has made life unbearable for all peoples and intolerable...

Two people were killed and eight others were wounded May 7, 2017, in an attack near the site of a memorial where a man was slain earlier in the day in the Brighton Park neighborhood, police said. It happened in the 2600 block of West 46th Place, police said. The men and women gathered at a makeshift memorial Sunday, down the block from where a man in his 20s had been found shot to death between parked cars in the Southwest Side's Brighton Park neighborhood. While the mourners stood in the late afternoon sun amid heart-shaped balloon, liquor bottles and candles, two men with rifles emerged from an alley around 5:20 p.m. and began firing, hitting 10 people and killing two of them. It had been just 12 hours since the man, 26-year-old Daniel Cardova, had been killed.  He too had been shot by two men with rifles, according to Chicago police. First Deputy Superintendent Kevin Navarro called the mass shooting “another brazen act of gang violence on Chicago's streets.” An...

He explained that this is to create a more efficient, “well-structured and world class mass transportation system that would facilitate ease of movement within the city”. Ambode also promised that his administration would soon roll out a comprehensive environmental sanitation policy that would make the city clean without much burden on the people in terms of taxes. He said this at the 14th annual lecture of the Centre for Values in Leadership (CVL) at Muson Centre in the Onikan area of the state.“When I wake up in the morning and see all these yellow buses and see Okada and all kinds of tricycles and then we claim we are a mega city, that is not true and we must first acknowledge that that is a faulty connectivity that we are running,” he said.“Having accepted...
