AIR MISHAP;1 DEAD,2 INJURED AFTER MILITARY CHOPPER CRASHES IN SOUTHERN MARYLAND

One crewmember died and two others were injured after a U.S. Army Blackhawk helicopter crashed at a golf course in Leonardtown, Maryland, during a "routine training flight" shortly before 2 p.m. EST today, officials told ABC News.

 The survivors, in critical and serious condition respectively, were transported to the University of Maryland R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, the Army said.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, the Army said.

 "We are deeply saddened by this loss within our community," said Maj. Gen. Bradley A. Becker, commanding general, Joint Force Headquarters National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington. "Our condolences go out to the families and friends affected by this tragedy, and our team is focused on supporting them during this difficult time."

 The UH-60 Blackhawk, from the 12th Aviation Battalion, was stationed at Davison Airfield in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.R.I.P brave heart.

Tuesday 14 Feb 2017 The wife and stepson of a Ku Klux Klan leader who was found fatally shot next to a river have been charged with murder. Malissa Ann Ancona, 44, and her 24-year-old son, Paul Edward Jinkerson Jr., were charged with first-degree murder, tampering with physical evidence and abandonment of a corpse following the death of white supremacist Frank Ancona. Both have been jailed without bond. Jinkerson shot his 51-year-old stepfather as he slept Thursday at his home in Leadwood, about 70 miles south of St. Louis, a probable cause statement alleges. After the shooting, Ancona’s body was taken in Jinkerson’s vehicle to an area near Belgrade, about 20 miles away, according to St. Francois County Sheriff’s Department detective Matt Wampler. The federal government says it is ready for its first major prosecutions of suspects linked to Boko Haram insurgency. Trials of the suspects will take place at a military base. The defendants have all been arrested and detained since the start of insurgency in the country's northeast in 2009. The Justice ministry announced last month that some 1,670 detainees would go on trial at a civilian court at a military base in Kainji, in the central state of Niger. A further 651 others at the Giwa barracks in the capital of the northeastern state of Borno, Maiduguri, would then be tried. A government source involved in the process told newsmen that defence and prosecution lawyers have arrived early to prepare for the cases. The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, has ordered the 'X' Squad of the Command to arrest three Police officers, who were reportedly caught extorting motorists in Surulere area of the state. In a statement by spokesperson of the Command, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said the Police boss also ordered the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration of the Command to issue a query to the Divisional Police Officer in-charge of the affected area. TERRORIST'S EX-WIFE ARRESTED

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) says it has arrested the former wife of Mamman Nur,a factional Boko Haram leader in Borno state.Ibrahim Abdullahi, NSCDC commandant in the state, disclosed this while speaking with reporters on Tuesday. He said his men arrested two female suspects in Maiduguri, the state capital, on Friday. Abdullahi said at first they were suspected to be suicide bombers but that findings revealed that the two suspects were from Sambisa forest, and were heading to Kangarwa camp to meet the factional leader of the sect.  “One of the suspect claimed that she is the ex-wife of the factional Boko Haram leader,” he said. “They said they escaped from a camp in Sambisa forest after Nigerian troops attack the terrorists.”  Abdullahi said the suspects were abandoned by the Boko Haram commander who asked them to wait in Maiduguri pending the time he would provide them accommodation.
