KING BANS DIVORCE

Swaziland King Mswati III has issued a decree at his Easter meeting with local pastors at the Engabezweni Royal Residence banning divorce in the southern African nation.

 Africa Review quoted the Times of Swaziland newspaper that King Mswati told the pastors to educate the people that there was no pulling out once they got married.👳👳

 “In our culture, once you marry someone, there is no turning back,” the Times of Swaziland quoted King Mswati as saying.

 The decree comes in the wake of the Swazi Attorney-General Office’s drafting the Marriage Bill of 2017, which contains five grounds for divorce.The existing Marriage Act of 1964 prohibits divorce.The newspaper quoted King Mswati comparing marriage to a covenant with God, pointing out that it was wrong for people to break agreements made with the latter.

 The Kingdom of Swaziland in southern Africa is one of the world’s last remaining absolute monarchies.It has, according to UNICEF, the highest HIV/Aids prevalence rate in the world.Some 210,000 of Swaziland’s 1.2 million population were living with the HIV infection.

 King Mswati III was crowned in 1986 at the age of 18, succeeding his long-serving father King Sobhuza II, who died at the age of 82.

 The king, 49, who is known as Ngweyama – “the lion” – has many wives and often appears in public in traditional dress.He is also permitted to choose a new bride every year.

FORMER BBC STUDIO CORDONED OFF AFTER MAN'S BODY WAS DISCOVERED

A man’s body has been discovered on the former BBC studios site in Manchester city centre. The body was found this morning at the building site on Oxford Road, which is currently being transformed into student flats. Greater Manchester Police have been called to the scene and the area has been taped off. Forensics officers have also been seen combing the area. Police are working to establish the circumstances behind the man’s death. The victim is believed to have been discovered by building site staff on Monday morning. It is thought he gained access to the building site over the weekend. A statement from GMP said: “Shortly before 7:50am on Monday, May 8, 2017, police were called to reports that a body had been found on Oxford Road in Manchester city centre. “Enquiries are on-going to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.” It is understood building staff working on the site have been told to stop working until further notice. A prophet of the Cherubim and Seraphim (C & S) Church in Lagos, Mr. Alimi Isaiah, 55, has been arraigned before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan for allegedly being in possession of human skull and a horn. 12 YEAR OLD GIRL DIES AFTER RELATIVE'S GUN GOES OFF

LEEDS, Ala. A 12-year-old girl died Sunday after authorities believe she was accidentally shot by a family member during a gathering in Alabama, according to multiple reports. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the girl as Kayla Mendenhall, AL.com reported. Authorities told the news site that Kayla and an adult family member were wrestling when a gun worn by the adult discharged. Kayla was shot in the upper leg and died at a hospital. POLICEMAN MURDERED,RIFFLE STOLEN BY HOODLUMS

Barely one week after a policeman lost his service rifle to unknown gunmen, another policeman has been attacked and killed by unidentified hoodlums in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. The unnamed policeman was reportedly killed in a beer parlour in the state capital. It was learnt that the hoodlums stole a police AK47 rifle after murdering the policeman at one of the relaxation spots on Hospital Road area. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, reportedly created pandemonium in the area known for prostitution and forced many restaurants to temporarily shut down their business. Christian Nwosu An ex - Administrative Secretary with the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mr. Christian Nwosu , on Thursday alleged that he was cajoled into confessing to taking a bribe of N 30m to compromise the 2015 general elections. Nwosu , who is being prosecuted before the Federal High Court in Lagos for alleged bribery , claimed that the three confessional statements he made to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on December 28, 2016 and March 15 and 22, 2017 were not done voluntarily .
