MENTALLY ILL LADY GIVES BIRTH TO BABY BOY BY ROADSIDE (PHOTOS)

A mentally unstable woman has given birth to a bouncing baby boy in Sapele, Delta state, Sapele Oghenek reports.

The lady was said to have been assisted by a roasted plantain seller who noticed that she was in labor. The Good Samaritan however noticed that the placenta refused to come out, prompting her to call for help.

A doctor, Ugochuckwu, later arrived the scene and assisted her in delivering the baby safely, before being taken to the hospital, as her family were located. The baby has since been named Excel.

Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos have intercepted a 54- year- old single mother of four children. She was going on pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia with substances that tested positive for cocaine. The suspect who hails from Kwara State was apprehended during the outward screening of passengers on a Qatar Airline flight to Saudi Arabia after testing positive to drug ingestion. Preliminary investigation revealed that she ingested 32 wraps of substances that tested positive for cocaine weighing 330 grammes. The suspect who hawks tea and bread to earn a living in Lagos was found to have collected N300,000 to smuggle drugs to Saudi under the pretext of going for pilgrimage. A woman has said that surgery for incontinence left her unable to have sex with her partner because her vagina ‘bit’ his penis. Theresa Bartram, 50, had the operation to lift her bladder using a plastic mesh, but it was fitted too low and eroded through her vaginal wall. Mrs Bartram, from Brighton, said that she had not had sex for seven years until she had the operation that involved the use of a plastic mesh sling called a transvaginal tape(TVT) to stop her leaking. PHOTO OF THE DECEASED BEEN TAKEN AWAY An Assistant Superintendent of Customs has allegedly committed suicide in Lungu Village, Gwarinpa, Abuja. The cause of the suicide was yet to be ascertained. Sources said the man, identified as Christian, 44, locked himself in a room and hung himself with a rope on Saturday. A source said the deceased, who was unmarried, was staying with his brother and was said to have been recently transferred to Lagos before the incident happened. The Gwarinpa Divisional Police Officer, CSP Nuruddeen Sabo, said the brother whom the deceased stayed with was at a barber’s shop when the incident happened. He said the man was confirmed dead at the Kubwa General Hospital. “Exhibits recovered include some drugs and knife.” Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased was suffering from depression.

Gunmen suspected to be militants on Thursday morning invaded Lagos State Model College, Igbo Nla, Epe, Lagos, abducting the principals and some students. The kidnappers were said to have stormed the school in the early hours when the students were at the morning assembly. The gunmen abducted the principal of the junior secondary school, Mr. Oyesola and Mr. Akirinmade who is the Principal of the senior secondary school. They also abducted some of the students. Presenting the case to the House of Representatives, the member representing Epe Constituency, Wale Raji, appealed to the House to call on the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State to treat the case with utmost urgency.
