Kidnappers beat lecturer to death after collecting N1.1m ransom

Two men, Patrick Koyi and Chituru Ferdinand, have been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a lecturer,Emmanuel Chinasa Obi,working with the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) in September 2016. The suspects also beat the victim to death after collecting N1.1 ransom.
A police source said: “The lecturer was murdered by his kidnappers after a ransom of N1.1m was paid in two installments to them.The kidnappers first received a ransom of N700,000 from his family while he was alive,then they paid an additional N400,000 after he was killed. 
When the kidnappers refused to release the lecturer, the family became worried and informed the police.”Koyi was arrested in Port Harcourt in possession of Obi’s Techno phone.He confessed to the crime and led operatives to his home,where Ferdinand whom he fingered as the mastermind of the abduction, was arrested. The lecturer attracted the suspects’ attention after they discovered he was building a duplex in the village, at Rumuji Town.

US President Donald Trump accused Mark Cuban of being a disgruntled former supporter. NEW YORK:   A Twitter war spurred between US President Donald Trump and American businessman and television personality, Mark Cuban after the latter cautioned the chief executives in a newspaper article "not to cozy up to Trump", media reports said. 2 ARMED ROBBERS SHOT DEAD DURING GUN BATTLE WITH POLICE

Two armed robbers were reportedly shot dead in a gun battle with the Kano State Police command and gang of robbers who shot a Police Patrol vehicle along Kano/Zaria road at a point close to Garun Mallam Village arrested. This was revealed in a statement signed by the command 's spokesperson , DSP . Magaji Musa Majia .
