PDP crisis: Why I won’t join issues with Fayose – Ali Modu Sheriff

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ali Modu Sheriff, has admonished the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose to respect himself, PDP and Nigerians, saying he could not join issues with the Ekiti Governor as that would amount to reducing himself to his level.
Sheriff gave the appeal while reacting to Fayose’s criticisms of him since he was affirmed the National Chairman of the former ruling party by a Port Harcourt Appeal Court.
Speaking in Abuja when leaders of the party from the South-West paid him a solidarity visit, the former Borno State Governor advised governors on the platform of the party against doing anything that would further divide the party.
According to Sheriff, “Yes, our governors are very important people. They are leaders of the party in their own right. I beg them not to divide the party. Let everybody unite and build the party.
‘’For Governor Ayo Fayose, I have no issues to join with him because I cannot even comment on some of the things he says and does. Doing that would amount to coming back to his level. But I beg him to respect himself, to respect the PDP, respect Nigeria because whatever you say today, posterity will judge you. I beg him to control himself.”
Sheriff reinstated his earlier stands on the Appeal court ruling, saying the victory is for all PDP.
“As I said, this victory is for every member of PDP; there is no loser. People can vent their anger but as a leader and father of everybody, I want to make sure that this party is united,” he added

A 45-year-old suspected ritualist who was arrested by the Police in Lagos with a human skull, has disclosed that he sold fresh human skull for N1 million. The suspect, Lucien Tusume, was arrested at Iraye village in Sagamu area of Ogun State, following intelligence report. Explaining the circumstance that led to the arrest of the suspected ritualist, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said some policemen, who disguised as buyers, contacted the suspect for a human skull. The suspect reportedly agreed to sell a dried skull for N150,000 to the undercover operatives, but the officers bargained for N81,000 which he accepted.The suspect later took the dried human skull to the 'buyers', and he was subsequently arrested after payment was made to him. T wenty six year-old Alice Awuor Omito from Rongo, Migori County, Kenya, has shocked many after confessing that preparing the dead for burial is the one thing that makes her happy. The employee of Rosewood Funeral Home in Rongo said that she dropped out of nursing school after fears that she would not secure employment after school. DETECTIVES of Delta State Police Command investigating the September 5 ambush of bank officials and policemen on the Benin-Asaba Expressway by bandits, who carted away N25 million from a bullion van, have apprehended and detained an Inspector and three other policemen, said to be on illegal escort duty. Police Public Relations Officer of Delta Command, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, who confirmed the arrest and detention of the policemen to Vanguard in Asaba, said Police have released two officials of the bank earlier arrested, while investigations were ongoing. POLICE INTERCEPT TWO VEHICLES CARRYING ARMS

The Zamfara State Police Command on Wednesday intercepted two vehicles carrying arms in different parts of the state. The spokesman of the command, Muhammad Shehu, confirmed the development in Gusau. He told the News Agency of Nigeria that items recovered from the vehicles were three AK47 riffles, an automatic pistol, locally-made pistol, magazines and live ammunitions. According to him, other items recovered include N103, 435 cash, ATM card, three voters’ cards, military camouflage and a stamp of the Cattle Traders Association of Nigeria in the Bukuru Local Government Area of Plateau.
