Never again will a corrupt man become Nigeria’s president, Oba of Lagos, shades Atiku

Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, yesterday lamented that an era whereby somebody spent the first three year under the Pres. Obasanjo administration and turned many public corporation to his personal properties had gone forever.

The monarch therefore, vowed to work against any corrupt individual from emerging the President of Nigeria, thereby canvassing support for the present leadership of EFCC.
He stated this yesterday at the inauguration of Nigerian Women Against Corruption Initiative at the Haven Event Centre, Ikeja, calling mass action against corrupt leaders.

“I insist that this is not era for somebody who spent the first three years under the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo making money and turning public corporations to his own.
He is planning to come back to be the President of this country again. I will work against his ambition. I mean it and I mean it. By God’s grace, it shall not be so,” the monarch said.
Akiolu canvassed support for the EFCC Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, noting that it was absolutely necessary for all to support the fight against graft and stop corrupt leaders from emerging Nigerian president.

He, however, commended Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, saying: “If a man can achieve that much in office under two years, it shows clearly that there is still hope for this country and whether we like it or not,we should thank God and commend Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

If I did not put down my foot from 1999 to 2003 to ensure that nobody pushed the government of Lagos State aside, they would have taken government from us that time. We will not be saying what we are saying today. That is why I am praying that God will let Pres. Buhari complete his tenure

Six dead, tens injured in DEADLY highway crash  has claimed six -The accident involved a saloon car and a bus -Five of the deceased were from the saloon car Six people lost their lives early on Sunday morning after deadly accident involving a saloon car and a bus along the Londiani-Muhoroni-Kisumu Highway . The meeting of the Federal Executive Council that holds every Wednesday did not hold yesterday. Yesterday would have afforded President Muhammadu Buhari who returned to the country on Saturday the opportunity of presiding over the council meeting for the first time in over three months. The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, disclosed in a statement that the meeting would not hold. Adesina did not however disclose the reason behind the decision to cancel the meeting. Late Joy Odama Autopsy has revealed that Joy Odama who was allegedly killed by an Alhaji in Abuja, died after inhaling carbon monoxide fumes. Joy Odama, a 200 level undergraduate Mass Communication student at Cross River State University, according to her mother was murdered by Usman Adamu. Contrary to the bereaved woman's allegation, the police reports that the result of the autopsy found carbon monoxide fumes in her body. Former President, Mr Goodluck Jonathan has confirmed the theft of his property from his house in Abuja. He confirmed the incident in a statement by his spokesperson, Ikechukwu Eze, following some media reports that the home was stripped bare and some of the items stolen were being sold in markets.
