Seven Fulani gunmen have been nabbed at Azagba Ogwashi were arrested on Wednesday, February 22, at about 5am by Men of the Anioma Security Watch Network Vigilante group.

The vigilante members stopped a trailer conveying the Fulani gunmen,load of cows and their luggage at Azagba Junction.The suspected Fulani gunmen were interrogated and the following weapons were found in their possession:

According to the Chairman of the Vigilante,the Fulani gunmen said they came all the way from Taraba State to Isselegu in Ndokwa East Local Government, Delta state.

Thee Divisional Police Officer, Ogwashi-uku, Mr Shuaibu was alerted.He sent his men to the scene of the incident. He equally called the Chief security officer, the Executive Chairman of Aniocha South LG, Hon (Chief) Isaac Ozo Anwuzia who applauded them and appreciated their effort and he also assured them of his usual support.

POLICE ARREST 4 INTERNET FRAUDSTERS,EFCC TAKES CHARGE

  Four suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested in Benin City, Edo State, by the Nigeria police and have been handed over to the Economic and Financial Crimes commission,EFCC. The EFCC in a statement issued on Tuesday gave the names of the suspects as Shiko Romeo, Bobby Edigiu, Henry Nisike and Emmanuel Ayo. The suspects, according to the EFCC, have reportedly confessed to their involvement in internet fraud using fake identification on Facebook. Their victims were mostly European and American women, the statement said. The EFCC said one of the suspects, Mr. Romeo, who claimed to be a student of the National Open University, NOUN, has revealed how he scammed the duo of K. Zamaripas and Susan of various sums of money by feigning to be in a romantic relationship using the name John Culfer in New Jersey, United States. The suspects would be charged to court at the end of the investigation, the EFCC said.

Man fights armed robber for stealing girlfriend's phone, collects gun A suspected armed robber, Michael David, has been arrested by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State, after he robbed a lady, identified simply as Kate, of her phone. PUNCH Metro gathered that 22-year-old David and two other members of his gang, while armed with a locally-made double-barrelled pistol, attacked Kate and her boyfriend, one Desmond, on Close 26, Satellite Town, Ijegun, around 10pm. They were said to have taken Kate's mobile phone and threatened to shoot the couple dead if they resisted. The gang had allegedly mounted a waiting motorcycle and were about speeding off when Desmond summoned courage and attacked the men. He was said to have succeeded in pulling down David, as his girlfriend called for help. Attempts by the suspect to shoot the victim failed, as the gun reportedly jammed. It has been reported that a Cameroon international kicked the bucket after an alleged romantic encounter with a woman who hails from the Niger Delta region. The 37-year-old Cameroonian man died in yet-to-be-ascertained circumstances in the home of his alleged lover in Ogboinbiri community of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. The death of the Cameroonian man, identified simply as Dr. Charles, a patent medicine dealer, on Tuesday, has, however, stirred controversies. Some indigenes of Ogboinbiri community claimed the Cameroonian died after an alleged sexual encounter with his unnamed 35-year-old lover, said to be an indigene of the community. Youths and traders protest customs invasion of rice warehouse Feb 23rd 2017; Some youths and traders have brought activities and vehicular movement on the ever busy Lagos-Abeokuta expressway to a halt, following a protest over alleged invasion of the rice market by men of the Nigerian Customs Service.The protest which was said to have lasted for hours, took the intervention of the Sango Ota Police Area Commander, Adegoke Fayoade, to restore normalcy to the area. Meanwhile, the Customs Public Relations Officer, Federal Operation Unit, Jerry Attah, dismissed the claims of market invasion, explaining that men of the command on surveillance noticed smugglers were moving rice in bulk on motorcycles from a canoe to a store in the area. He added that the command only evacuated some of the alleged smuggled rice at the warehouse in the early hours of Wednesday.The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said normal activities have been restored to the area.

Two people were killed and eight others were wounded May 7, 2017, in an attack near the site of a memorial where a man was slain earlier in the day in the Brighton Park neighborhood, police said. It happened in the 2600 block of West 46th Place, police said. The men and women gathered at a makeshift memorial Sunday, down the block from where a man in his 20s had been found shot to death between parked cars in the Southwest Side's Brighton Park neighborhood. While the mourners stood in the late afternoon sun amid heart-shaped balloon, liquor bottles and candles, two men with rifles emerged from an alley around 5:20 p.m. and began firing, hitting 10 people and killing two of them.
