WOMAN THREATENED WITH KNIFE DURING ATTEMPTED RAPE
A dog walker was attacked by a man who held a knife to her throat and attempted to rape her. The victim, aged in her 30s, was walking her two dogs on waste land, near to Bedford Avenue, in Walkden, when she was approached by a man just before 7pm last night (Sunday). The man asked her for the time, but then grabbed the woman and pulled her into some trees. He then threatened the victim with a knife and ordered her to hand over her jewellery. Police said the attacker then tried to rape the woman, but she managed to fight him off and fled from the scene. Greater Manchester Police are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone with further information to come forward. The attacker is described as white, of stocky build and aged in his mid 30. He was wearing a black baseball cap, black tracksuit and was wearing white Nike trainers with a white tick on them.
